Join Durham & Cleveland LTA as Treasurer
Do you have financial expertise and a passion for tennis? DCLTA is seeking a volunteer Treasurer to help shape the future of tennis across the county as our current post-holder steps down at the end of 2026.
Background
Durham & Cleveland LTA, working in partnership with the Lawn Tennis Association (LTA), promotes and develops tennis across the County’s 30+ clubs, parks and a growing number of Padel venues. We organise County representative teams, competitions and championships. We operate as an Executive Committee meeting quarterly to oversee the strategic development and delivery performance against the County’s objectives, supported by a team of dedicated volunteers and contracted professionals and several working committees focused on supporting and growing tennis in the County.
Responsibilities
- Work collaboratively with the Executive team to shape the strategic direction of DCLTA (ref Role Profile for full details)
- Ensure sound governance, compliance and transparency across all financial matters
- Establish and manage all financial processes and controls (currently Sage-based)
Skills and knowledge
- Strong understanding of financial governance, control, and reporting.
- Knowledge of tennis, sports governance, or not-for-profit structures is desirable but not essential. A passion for supporting community sport is key.
Time commitment
This is a voluntary role requiring around 10 hours per month, including attendance at in-person Executive meetings (typically held in Sunderland). In return, you’ll have the opportunity to make a lasting impact on grassroots and county-level tennis, work alongside a passionate team of volunteers, and qualify for entry into the LTA’s Volunteers’ Wimbledon Tickets scheme.
Contact us
This is an opportunity to make a lasting contribution to the future of tennis in Durham & Cleveland, working with a supportive and passionate team. If you have the skills and passion to support our work, and the growth of tennis in the County, we’d love to hear from you.
