Schools Coaching Programme

Getting tennis into our primary schools is the central to our goal of growing tennis across the County. We want to work in partnership with our coaches and use the support offered by the LTA to bring tennis into every primary school in our area whether within PE classes, after-school sessions or even Fun Days.

LTA Youth Schools Programme

Designed specially for primary schools and to support the curriculum, our programme brings together free PE lesson plans, personal development resources, teacher training, and much more. The programme is free for all schools and school sport network to access and contains a wide range of resources including curriculum delivery, competition and teacher CPD.   If you haven’t already, you can register and access the resources here.

Teacher Training – £250 School Club Link Voucher

All schools that complete a 2 hour teacher training course will be rewarded with a £250 voucher to spend on 10 hours of LTA Accredited Coach support or on tennis equipment (limited to one voucher per school).  Our courses have been written by teachers for teachers to support schools in delivering tennis and the content is fully inclusive, and we have approved provider status from afPE.        

Durham & Cleveland LTA and our LTA Workforce lead are working with the CSP’s to get teacher courses up and running. Once scheduled, teachers can search and register for courses.

Secondary School Teacher Training

This will be an online course that teachers can complete in their own time.  The course will be available when the Secondary Schools programme launches later this year.
