County Development Partner appointed

County Development Partner appointed

We are delighted to announce that Hannah Murdy (known to many of you as Hannah Jeffrey) has joined the County team as our County Development Partner. Hannah is Head Coach at Boldon Tennis Club and is very active in schools and community outreach and working with the LTA’s national Parks Investment initiative.

With her County hat on Hannah will focus on delivery of the County’s key objective in growing tennis across the County – more people playing more tennis in more places. Her immediate priorities will be:

  • To bring tennis match-play to the many juniors in coaching who don’t play regularly or at all by organising more competitions in more venues, particularly our outdoor clubs
  • To work with our EDI team to deliver more inclusive tennis activities across the county; in disability, visually and hearing-impaired tennis, and to communities currently without access to tennis
  • To support new coaches and officials as they begin their journey to make tennis more open and accessible
