North East Coaches Day

North East Coaches Day!

I wanted to get in touch to let you know about a fantastic upcoming session we are running for coaches in the North East, on Thursday 10th February. We have brought in some fantastic experts in to share their knowledge and expertise, so it promises to be a great morning!

Any support with helping to share the below opportunity with your coaches, would be very much appreciated. It would be great to see lots of North East faces there!

Session details

  • When? 10th February 2022, 9.30am – 1.30pm
  • Where? Sunderland Tennis Centre
  • What’s it about?

We are excited to announce that we will be delivering a North East Coaches’ Day on Thursday February 10th 2022.  The content for the session has been designed following consultation with local coaches, who have asked for support to further develop their knowledge on a number of key areas and networking opportunities with fellow coaches to share best practice and problem solving.

The first part of the session will cover the NEW LTA Coaching Qualification Pathway and importantly, share ideas about Venues and Head / Lead Coaches identifying, developing and nurturing their coach and volunteer teams.

Following the above, the group will be split into two and complete the below on court, practical sessions

Capitalising on LTA Youth Schools Programme

Louise Assioun will share her expertise in ensuring local venues and coaches become an integral part of their local schools programmes.  This will include utilising the LTA Youth resources to truly embed tennis across the curriculum, share the true value of tennis and support teacher training and mentoring.

Embedding strength and conditioning in your LTA Youth programmes

The workshop will be delivered by Howard Green – Head of Sport Science at Bolton Arena Regional Performance Development Centre, where he has worked since 2009. His experience includes working with players across various levels including national and international juniors, ATP and WTA professionals, including former world number one Ana Ivanovic and GB player Naomi Broady.

Howard’s main goal will be to empower coaches to deliver the Tennis SuperMovers content the very next day! Howard will cover:

·        Learning the Top 5 strategies for improving on-court movement and reducing the risk of injury

·        Learn the Coaching Principles that underpin the programme

·        Explore the ‘Integrated Tennis Shapes’ and how these relate to tennis performance.

·        Experience the Shapes by being coached by the expert and have opportunity to coach each other.

·        Learn how you will be able to include the content into your daily coaching practice.

In addition to the knowledge and skills you will develop on the workshop, attendees will also be given a free trial of the brand-new Tennis SuperMovers Coach Programme and be offered a 50% discount.

Many thanks for your help promoting this session to your coaches. As ever, any queries regarding the above or anything else, please do not hesitate to get in touch.

Best wishes,
